Strictly judges 'will get say' on incoming fourth as BBC bosses consider options

The remaining Strictly Come Dancing judges are reportedly being consulted on the incoming fourth that will join them on the next series.

After Darcey Bussell's sudden departure the open spot his being fiercely contested with BBC bosses keeping originals Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli and head judge Shirley Ballas happy their number one priority.

According to the Sun , the trio are set to have their say in a meeting with the production team ahead of any decisions being made.

So far professional dancer Anton Du Beke is the favourite to take up the spot, however it's been rumoured that TV executives are looking for a fresh face.

Dame Darcey stunned fans of the BBC dance contest last month when she announced she wold not be returning for her seventh series.

When Craig returns back from Australia and Bruno jets back in from Los Angeles, along with Shirley the three are thought to be sitting down to share their thoughts.

A source told the Sun that it's 'imperative all agree and get on with the new judge'.

The Mirror Online have contacted the BBC for comment.

BBC bosses have been on the hunt for her replacement with several names that have been thrown into the mix.

As well as Anton's rumoured audition, Darcey's former dance partner ballet supremo Carlos Acosta is reportedly in the running.

After winning over fans when she joined the line-up of professionals back in 2015 and receiving rave reviews as a dance captain on The Greatest Dancer Oti Mabuse has become a likely contender.

However, when she was asked by former celeb contestant and Radio 2 Breakfast host Zoe Ball about it she denied any offers had been made.

Strictly Come Dancing professionals 'too tired' to meet fans during live tour

"No, no… I love dancing, I love coming to the rehearsals, I love being a part of the group. It’s a really special group to be a part of. There are no dancers like Strictly dancers, how close we are.… I think I would absolutely miss that and that part of it."

Alfonso Ribeiro's stint as guest judge in the last series went down so well that fans have begged for him to return as a permanent fixture.

Professional dancer Karen Hardy, who has been part of the Strictly family since it first began and won the show in 2006, is also said to be a strong contender.
