On Strictly Come Dancing, the drama is never reserved for the dance floor alone.
Some of the show's most shocking moments have actually had nothing to do with the dancers, but instead involve the judges' cruel jibes at each other.
From allegations of age discrimination and fiery clashes over their critiques, to accusations of one judge being "s**t at her job" and another not concentrating properly during the performances, the judges don't hold back when it comes to tearing each other apart.
And the fights we see live on air pale in comparison next to the seething arguments and nasty digs they are reported to make about their fellow judges backstage.
Let's take a look at some of the Strictly judges' most scandalous feuds.

Arlene Phillips and Alesha Dixon

Renowned choreographer Arlene was on the Strictly judging panel from its first series in 2004 until 2008.
Her sudden departure caused a scandal with the BBC, which was accused of sacking her and appointing former contestant Alesha Dixon, 35 years younger, as her replacement - sparking allegations of age discrimination.
The BBC denied any age discrimination and insisted it was simply trying to refresh the show, while Alesha rather tactlessly claimed it was actually younger people like her who were subjected to age discrimination, and not Arlene.
"Personally I don't think it's about ageism, I think that's a load of rubbish," Alesha told Jonathan Ross.
"I knew nothing, I found out when everyone else did. I was as surprised as everyone else but I took all the flak for it."
Furious Arlene felt she deserved an apology and an explanation, but says she never received one and it left her "damaged".

In 2021, Arlene admitted she "didn't have the strength" to fight the BBC about the decision, telling the Daily Mail: "'As a woman I should've thought about it, I should've demanded why the woman had gone, and three men remain.
"I should have asked them to analyse it. I should have had the strength to at least ask for reasons and if not getting the reasons, a damn well apology."
She also told the Sod's Law podcast she was still trying to find out the truth about her dismissal and had requested evidence via the Freedom of Information act.
"I’ve got the Freedom of Information and looking at the chaotic way that led up to it was shocking," she said.
"Most is redacted. There’s some information there and even that’s chaotic, let alone what was redacted from the report."
She added: "Nowadays, they could have given me the chance to resign or build a story around it.
"I didn’t have a contract that automatically rolled on to the next year, but I think it was handled so poorly. You then never forget those moments of turmoil."
Craig Revel Horwood and Arlene Phillips

Strictly pro Ola Jordan claimed in her 2016 autobiography that behind the scenes, things were far from amicable between acid-tongued Craig and Arlene.
She even claimed Craig branded Arlene "s**t at her job" during a night out and made a cruel jab regarding her usurping in favour of Alesha, something which would have really stung.
Ola wrote: "'She was s*** at her job and that’s why she went,' Craig said. 'It had nothing to do with ageism.'"
She also claimed Craig called fellow judge Len Goodman a "boring old man".
But Craig denied there was any truth to these claims, telling the Daily Star: "If that’s the only thing they were selling the book on then I’d be scared to read it because it won’t be very interesting.
"The truth is I love Arlene Phillips. Whatever Ola has written about what I said about Arlene is just hearsay and her opinion. I don’t care."
Craig Revel Horwood and Anton du Beke
This year, Strictly fans were left convinced that new judge Anton, who was previously a professional on the show, was struggling to fit in with the established judges - namely Craig.
Craig appeared to make several digs at Anton during the series that had viewers wondering if there was tension behind the scenes.
While critiquing Katie McGlynn's performance, Anton told her: "Luckily for you, I didn’t actually notice the mistakes. I might have been jotting something down so you might have got one past me.
"I enjoyed the performance and your acting - you’re a fine actress. You brought that to the performance."
Disgruntled Craig immediately shot back: "Anton, you need to keep a watchful eye, darling."
It wasn't the first time Anton and Craig had been at odds - they also shared an excruciatingly awkward moment in the previous series when Craig accused Anton of wearing false teeth.

After an Austin Powers-inspired routine, Craig told Anton: "I was slightly distracted with the wig and the fake teeth that you have in."
Mortified, Anton replied: "They’re not fake by the way, they’re my own, darling!"
"They’re not fake?" asked a horrified Craig as the rest of the judges collapsed into giggles. "I’m sorry Anton, I really am sorry."
Anton also gave Craig a telling off when he hit out at Shirley and host Tess Daly on his book tour.
"In those ten or 20 seconds where I have to answer Tess’s quite dull questions actually... I tend to avoid them and not answer if I’m super honest," Craig said.
He then claimed that Shirley had a top "open to her navel" at her Strictly audition, insisting: "Her boobs were like La BaZooKa things hanging out. It was not very, erm, Strictly. So they came in and sewed all that up. Then they had to push them down ... and they’re fake."
In response, Anton told The Sun: "I absolutely don’t think Tess is boring. Tess is a delight.
"He does like to run his mouth, he was teasing I think but he should know better."
Shirley agreed: "I don’t think it’s appropriate for anyone to make comments about anyone else - be it about their body or anything they do - when working as a team.
"Im a team player and I have the backs of my fellow people. Yes, I got an apology - a sincere apology."
Darcey Bussell and Shirley Ballas

Prima ballerina Darcey, who famously spent her entire dance career with The Royal Ballet, joined the judging panel in 2012 to replace Alesha.
It was reported that from the moment head judge Shirley joined in 2017, the two women clashed.
There was palpable tension in week one when Shirley accidentally called Holby City star Chizzy Akudolu 'Lizzy'.
Darcey burst out laughing and dramatically put her head in her hands, but Shirley got her own back later when she panned Darcey's critique of Joe McFadden's dancing.
"I have to slightly disagree with my learned friend," she said before contradicting Darcey's advice.
The following week, the women were seated at opposite ends of the panel and viewers claimed to have spotted Darcey once again shaking her head when Shirley was moved to tears by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer's waltz.
Opening up about their supposed feud, Shirley once admitted they've got little in common.
"Our backgrounds are worlds apart. I come from a housing estate, the under-privileged if you like, and she comes from privilege," she told Radio Times.

And show insiders claimed their personalities clashed from the outset.
"Shirley arrived all guns blazing and that has put Darcey's back up," a source said in 2017.
"She's theatrical and loud, whereas Darcey is reserved and demure. They are professional and civil towards one another at work but they aren't friends."
Adding to the tension, Darcey apparently fancied the top job for herself, but "didn't have enough ballroom expertise," an acquaintance claimed.
And Darcey was also reportedly less-than-impressed by her ex-husband Corky Ballas's claims that Shirley cheated on him with at least 10 men during their marriage.
Shirley never confirmed or denied Corky's claim, but said he had been unfaithful to her and that she thought that might have been "karma" for her own actions.
"[Darcey] worries it's bringing the show into disrepute," a show insider claimed to Mail Online.
However, Darcey shut down the gossip, insisting, "Of course I get on with Shirley."
"She's hysterical, she's got a great sense of humour, and I totally respect her amazing amount of knowledge. She's great to be with," she told the Telegraph.
Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse
Craig's multiple digs at Motsi in the current series have left fans shocked and wondering if they really don't get along.
Sarcastic Craig criticised his fellow judge's outfit several times and shamed her for "screaming in German" throughout the dances.
The first criticism came from Craig when he and Motsi were giving their opinion on John Whaite and Johannes Radebe's American Smooth to 'I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)' by George Michael and Aretha Franklin.
As Motsi told Craig she "didn't know what was going on" between the pair of them, as they kept disagreeing with their opinions on the dances, choreographer Craig took aim at her outfit.
"Darling, I know what's going on with you," Craig said as he gestured towards her shoulder pads.
But Motsi quickly fired back: "I'm a queen baby, look at my crown!"

Later on the show, Craig made another dig at his fellow judge, telling her to "be quiet" as they revealed what they thought of Sara Davies and Aljaž Škorjanec's tango - which earned the dancing duo 36 points and a place at the top of the leaderboard.
Asked by host Tess Daly what he made of their dance, he fired back: "I'm finding it difficult to talk now because Motsi was screaming in German throughout.
"Can you just be quiet when the dancing is on please, darling?" he added, addressing Motsi directly.
If two digs weren't enough, Craig made one more shady comment about Motsi's bedazzling outfit, after Anton confessed he would love to dance with Motsi backstage.
"I wouldn't do that with Motsi with those shoulder pads," Craig told Anton.
But Motsi shrieked back: "This man is jealous of my shoulder pads!"
