Strictly judge Shirley Ballas to go to doctors after fans raise concerns

Shirley Ballas has told worried Strictly Come Dancing fans that she is going to see a doctor after they raised concerns about seeing 'lumps' under her arms.

Shirley has been head judge on the hit BBC show for four years now after filling the vacant set left by 'Mr Seven' himself Len Goodman.

And, with less than an hour to go until cameras started rolling on the fourth Strictly live show on Saturday, Shirley took to Instagram to address the messages she'd been receiving from worried fans who's told her they'd noticed lumps under her arm as she held it up to give scores and critiques during the series so far.

She wrote: "So many messages over the last three weeks about suspected lump under my right arm. I have done a self check and will go to my Dr on Tuesday.

"Thank you to those who reached out with their concerns. To all be vigilant and do self checks regularly."

As well as speaking out about the messages she'd received, Shirley shared screen shots of some of them.

One read: "Hi Shirley, I don't want to alarm you, but you have a lump under your right arm. Please get it checked out."

Similar ones from other viewers also said they didn't want to alarm the head judge but urged her to get a professional opinion.

Shirley's post quickly got plenty of comments, including one from recently voted off Strictly pro Neil Jones who told her: "Thinking of you."

One of her fans responded: "Women helping women! I love this! Please get it checked out and fingers crossed it’s nothing serious," with another reacting: "That’s so lovely of people. That’s the good side of social media! Looking gorgeous as always."
