Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood latest to test positive for Covid

Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood has tested positive for Covid-19, it's been announced.

The diagnosis means he will not be appearing on the show on Saturday (November 20), week nine, the Musicals Special..

According to a spokesperson from the BBC One programme, his isolation is in keeping with Government guidelines for coronavirus-positive patients.

But as long as he is well, they added, he will be back on the show for week 10.

A Strictly spokesperson said: “Craig Revel Horwood has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

“While Craig will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, all being well he will return the following week.”

Although he has yet to make a statement, it's believed that Craig has been vaccinated and also had the booster

In an interview with The Times in September, the 56-year-old said: "If I came into a situation certainly when I am doing panto, for instance, I am hoping everyone has had a vaccination that I’m performing with on stage because that will make me feel safer . . . The NHS are bringing in things to say that you really have to be vaccinated.

"I mean, it’s like the malaria vaccination. Would you not have it and just go and die of malaria? This is no different a vaccine to the flu or anything, and why people are up in arms about it I have no idea. I think it’s ridiculous. I do know someone that is refusing to have it and that drives me nuts.”

Since the start of the 19th series, Strictly has been beset with coronavirus-related difficulties.

On week two, McFly star Tom Fletcher and dancer Amy Dowden were unable to perform due to testing positive for coronavirus.

The for week five's programme, due to Judi Love from Loose Women testing positive for COVID-19, Judi and Graziano di Prima were unable to perform.
