Strictly favourite Kelvin Fletcher tears up as he scores first ten with 'fabulous' dance

Kelvin Fletcher showed off his dancing prowess once again with his Strictly Come Dancing energetic Charleston routine.

The former Emmerdale star, 35, who appeared on the soap for 20 years, received the first ever tens in the series from judges Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.

While he didn't get a ten from Craig Revel Horwood, the usually harsh critic uttered his first 'fab-u-lous' and dished out generous nine for the actor.

Kelvin was left utterly speechless with the results, just moments before getting his scores he became emotional at the thought of dancing to his daughter's favourite song.

After receiving a staggering 38 out of 40 for the third week, Kelvin and his professional partner Oti Mabuse embraced and jumped up and down in celebration.

In the videotape which ran before they danced, Kelvin revealed he'd been struggling to pick up the moves of the Charleston.

He was dancing to Trip A Little Light Fantastic by Lin Manuel Miranda from Mary Poppins Returns and welcomed his children and wife to see him rehearse.

Kelvin said the moment helped him to push on and learn the routine helping him on the way to the high score, and bringing him to the top of the leaderboard.

Kelvin shared a video of himself practising his dance routine earlier in the week while playfully carrying his little boy Milo around the kitchen.

The soap star excitedly told his followers: "Little Milo has been helping me with rehearsals for this weekend’s Mary Poppins Returns Charleston!"

The pair performed an energetic routine which received a score of 38 out of 40 (PA)

He added: "This soundtrack and this song especially has been on loop in our house for the last few months since taking Marnie to the cinema (her first cinema trip) to watch it. So I’ll be doing my best and making sure I don’t disappoint!"

"I’m absolutely LOVING this Strictly experience I feel so lucky."

Kelvin shares his two young children, Milo and Marnie, with his actress wife Liz Marsland, who he married in 2015.

During his lively Strictly Come Dancing debut last weekend, Kelvin wooed women across the country as he took to the glitzy Strictly ballroom with his professional partner Oti Mabuse.

Kelvin was a latecomer to this year's Strictly after Made In Chelsea's Jamie Laing was forced to pull out of the show at the last minute due to a foot injury.

Kelvin performed a spectacular Samba which went down so well with the crowd, they gave him a standing ovation.
