Strictly fans think they've spotted special reason behind Tom Fletcher's song choice this weekend

Strictly Come Dancing fans think they've spotted the reason for Tom Fletcher's song choice this weekend.

The McFly star will return to the ballroom on Saturday night alongside partner Amy Dowden for Musicals Week.

On Saturday night Tom, 36, and Amy, 31, were awarded a very respectable 30 points for their Viennese Waltz to iconic track, Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls.

It came after they earned a huge score of 38 out of 40 from the judges the week before for their paso doble.

But the focus is now on the weekend ahead and viewers of the BBC One dance competition are set to be transported to the theatre.

The dance and song choices for Musicals Week have already been revealed - and Tom's is catching fans' eyes.

Tom and Amy will be the latest pair to perform a couple’s choice and they'll do so to On My Own from Les Miserables.

And fans think they know the reason why.

"I knew Tom would do something from Les Mis, I bet his family is soo happy," @carrie_hopefletcherfan.123 shared.

@becksfosterr said Tom doing less mis in honour of his sister! And couples choice! Can't wait."

"A couple's choice to On My Own, I'm not ready for this. I bet @carriehopefletcher is so proud," @tatyannagois added.

@zakskaz90 tweeted: "Oh my god Tom is dancing to the song his sister sang in Les Mis I actually want to cry also a couples choice it’s a 10 from me."

Tom's sister Carrie is a theatre actress and played Éponine in Les Misérables in the West End in 2013 until taking a break in 2014, returning the following year.

She left the role in 2016 and is the only British actress to play both young Éponine and older Éponine in the production after making her West End debut as Young Éponine in Les Mis at the age of nine in 2001.

And fans are hoping for something extra special to happen.

"It's too much to hope that Carrie's going to pop by and sing that song for Tom and Amy isn't it?!" Sarah shared on Facebook.

Tom has also revealed that he was offered the role of Marius in Les Mis 10 years ago, but had to turn it down as he wouldn't have been able to tour with McFly.
