Strictly fans spot Motsi Mabuse's outraged reaction to Catherine Tyldesley exit

Motsi Mabuse was unable to hide her frustration after Catherine Tyldesley was controversially axed from Strictly Come Dancing .

The new judge voted to save the former Coronation Street star, alongside Bruno Tonioli, but they were overruled by head judge Shirley Ballas.

Outraged Strictly fans are calling for Motsi to replace Shirley as the head judge, who is given the casting vote in the event of a tie, because she is more in tune with the public.

Oti's sister appeared to refuse to clap when Mike Bushell and Katya Jones were saved following the dreaded dance-off.

Fuming Motsi was then spotted whispering something emphatically in the ear of fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood, who opted to save Mike and Katya.

Motsi stood up when Catherine and her pro partner Johannes Radebe walked over to the judges' desk after the result.

She started clapping, which led to a standing ovation from the entire audience and the rest of the judges for the pair.

When they started their final dance, the camera panned round to a disgruntled Motsi standing alongside her fellow judges.

Seething Strictly viewers took to Twitter to praise Motsi for standing up for what she believes in.

One fan said: "Motsi is all of us right now "

"Not because of the results but just because she’s less biased, petition to get motsi mabuse to be head judge next year," added another.

A third said: "Only #Strictly judge I respect tonight is Motsi who refused to clap when Mike was saved and gave @jojo_radebe a standing ovation, absolute nonsense Catherine and Johannes were such strong dancers and so sweet"

"Motsi looks p***ed off at the result and I’m living for it," said a fourth.

Both Motsi and Bruno had voted to keep Catherine and Johannes in the competition after their Cha Cha to Scared Of The Dark by Steps.

Motsi said: "I felt a strong performance, stronger body actions, stronger leg actions. I’m saving Catherine & Johannes."

Giving the casting vote, Shirley said: "Well, I thought both couples really step it up a notch and this is always the most difficult decision for me.

"But based on a good focus, difficult content, with some really beautiful footwork in there with stronger technical skills for me, cleaner and polished. I’m going to save Mike & Katya."

When asked about her time on the show, Catherine turned to partner Johannes with tears in her eyes.

Cath said: "Him, yeah, he’s like my best friend. He’s just…oooh, (referring to eye make-up) it’s waterproof…just the opportunity to work with amazing people and get critiqued off amazing people.

"I never thought I’d say this, I’m going to keep it up because I fell in love with it! I’ve loved every second, this man has changed my life!"
