Strictly fans in tears over the opening number - and floored when they realise what the pros are dancing to

Strictly Come Dancing fans were only minutes into Movie Week when the tears starting flowing.

Viewers were overcome with emotion over the beautiful opening number starring the show's professional dancers.

There were goosebumps as Johannes Radebe and Kai Widdrington took centre stage in the romantic period drama routine.

And they were floored as they realised what they were dancing to.

They moved fans to tears with the beautiful routine (BBC)

The pair glided across the dancefloor to a medley of hits by pop superstar Taylor Swift.

"WAS THAT A TAYLOR SWIFT MASH UP ON STRICTLY?" shouted one excited fan on Twitter.

""I’m gonna need the full version of the Taylor Swift strings cover #Strictly," another messaged.

"Are they dancing to @taylorswift13 'Lover' #Strictly," asked another.

The praise came pouring in for the elegant show opener.

"Love the #Strictly opening routine. Joy and grace and romance," commented another Strictly viewer.

"What an awesome start that was awesome," said another.

"Those dresses + Taylor Swift music + same sex dancing = omg that was the best thing ever," gasped another fan.

Another wrote: "What an amazing pro dance! All the same sex couples dancing together made me emotional and the story of Johannes and Kai was SO beautiful!"

"Oh my god i am crying," tweeted another.

And another said: "Johannes and Kai omg this is emotional actually so cute."

Johannes is partnered on the BBC dance show for 2021 with former Bake Off winner John Whaite.

They are making history on the long-running show's as its first all-male pairing and have been tipped as the ones to watch this year as they compete for the Glitterball.
