Helen Skelton 's children shared a sweet message for their mum ahead of her final Strictly Come Dancing performance this evening.
The former Blue Peter presenter, 39, closed the show tonight with professional dance partner Gorka Márquez, as she performed the last of three dances during this year's Strictly final.
Helen, Hamza Yassin, Molly Rainford, and Fleur East and their respective partners all performed three dances throughout this evening's show, as they aimed to impress viewers watching at home in their bid to lift the Glitterball trophy.
Before Helen and Gorka took to the dancefloor to for the final time to perform their Couple’s Choice routine to ‘Mein Herr’ by Liza Minnelli (from Cabaret), a VT played which included an adorable cameo for Helen's children.
The Countryfile star shares three young children with her estranged husband Richie Myler, who left their family home in April this year just months on from Helen giving birth to their third child in December 2021.
Rugby player Richie, 32, is expecting his first baby with new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, after striking up a romance with the daughter of the multi-millionaire president of Leeds Rhinos following his split from Helen.
Speaking in the VT played during tonight's final, Helen gushed about how Strictly has been an amazing experience not just for her but her loved ones too.
She explained how her parents and her children have enjoyed watching her on the show each week, before the camera cut to the star's two eldest children sharing a sweet message for their mum ahead of her final dance.
"helen’s kids has me crying #strictly," one Strictly viewer wrote on Twitter after the emotional moment aired.
"Helen’s kids - love ‘em…" another quipped online, with a third adding: "awww helen’s kids."
One Strictly fan jokingly accused the star of pulling out all the stops to be crowned this year's winner, tweeting: "Helen's gone nuclear before the last dance by bringing her kids into the montage.
"Sure fire vote winner."
Since splitting from estranged husband Richie earlier this year, Helen has been raising her three young children alone in addition to appearing on one of the country's biggest shows.
As she closed the show earlier this evening, Helen thanked her partner Gorka for his support throughout the series and called him a credit to the Strictly family.
The pair got standing ovations from judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse – and shouts of "Helen, Helen" from the crowd after their performance.
Motsi told the couple: "What a night, what a night, what a dance…that was amazing."
Anton Du Beke added: "This reaction is what we live for as performers."
The pair embraced as judges award them 40 points out of a possible 40 and showered them with praise.
