Strictly fans 'heartbroken' at Hamza's comment to Jowita as they point out problem

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left 'heartbroken' after overhearing Hamza Yassin's comments to his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal following their routine on Saturday.

The BBC dancing show embraced the spooky season on Saturday night as the BBC One ballroom dancing show returned for a Halloween spectacular.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the Halloween special under the watchful eye of judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.

Dressed as a king, the wildlife cameraman took to the BBC ballroom floor to perform an exuberant Tango to Wicked Game by Chris Isaak.

At the conclusion of the performance, Hamza fell to the floor while still in character, before the pair turned to the judging panel for their feedback.

However, at the end of their routine, Strictly fans noticed that Hamza seemed to apologise to Jowita as the pair hugged.

The 32-year-old whispered: "I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” but Jowita replied: "Well done,” as the audience cheered the duo.

One Strictly fan who noticed the comments took to Twitter to respond, writing: “Heartbroken to hear Hamza say 'I'm sorry' to Jowita at the end.

“He’s so hard on himself every week but he shines on the dance floor so much.”

Motsi told the Animal Park star: "I just want to speak about something really particular about the way you dance. The way you are able to move your spine and shift from one leg to the other is incredible."

Head judge Shirley, who dressed up as Gomez Addams for the Halloween special, commented: “It was great choreography, you're definitely a dream team and I can see that you are working 100 percent together.”

However, she did go on to point out Hamza's mistake during the routine as she added: “It was very complicated choreography. You had some really fast feet and right in front here, there was just a little wobble here.

“You felt it right, Hamza? A little misstep here. You probably can't see it, but I can see it.”

After receiving a score of 33, Strictly fans took to social media to demand a higher score for Hamza and Jowita as one wrote: "I’m sorry Hamza should be at the top of that leaderboard!”

Another added: “Strictly WTF!!!!!! Hamza was so undermarked!!!" as a fellow fan penned: "Hamza and Jowita were undermarked so I hope they get more votes."

Fellow Strictly fans believe they may have discovered the issue with the routine which led to their score, as one wrote: “I love Hamza but I couldn’t see much of that for all the fabric in the costumes. I imagine it was excellent though Strictly."

Another tweeted: “I adore Wicked Game and I thought it worked nicely here. My least favourite thing about Hamza's routine was his outfit, I feel like it obscured his legs and made things look a touch messy."
