Strictly fans gobsmacked as they spot Giovanni Pernice swearing on It Takes Two

Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked this week when they apparently heard Giovanni Pernice swear live on TV.

The Italian dancer appeared on an episode of Strictly - It Takes Two alongside Rose Ayling-Ellis to talk to host Rylan about their incredible dance over the weekend.

The duo left viewers as well as the judges in tears after performing a breathtaking Couple's Choice routine - that featured a touching silent moment which paid tribute to the deaf community.

During the interview with Rylan, Rose and Giovanni took part in a game to see how well they know each other after months of dancing together.

Proving that they are genuine friends, the pair got full marks but when Rylan revealed that they wouldn't be able to take the trophy home, Giovanni had a live slip-up.

Viewers spotted it immediately and took to Twitter to comment.

"Did Gio just say ‘f**k that’ on TV at 6:40pm? #Strictly #ittakestwo," one person tweeted.

Another person asked: "Did Giovanni just say ‘f**k sake’? #ItTakesTwo #Strictly."

It Takes Two viewers claimed they heard Giovanni drop the F-bomb during an interview with Rylan (BBC)

Someone else posted: "I am LOVING that @pernicegiovann1 just dropped the F Bomb with @Rylan and no one noticed!! What a Don! Gio and Rose rock! #Strictly #ITT."

But another viewer was distracted by something else and wrote: "On @bbcstrictly #ittakestwo, at the end of that Couples Choice quiz, did I just hear: @RoseAylingEllis: 'What, no trophy!'"

Someone else added: "Sneaky line from @pernicegiovann1 to @RoseAylingEllis 'you don’t need that trophy you’ll get the glitter ball' @bbcstrictly #ittakestwo @Rylan."

Elsewhere in the chat, Giovanni said he and Rose decided to keep the silent moment in their dance a "secret" to ensure that it made the impact they wanted.

"It was a special dance because it showed the message that I wanted it to show," Rose told Rylan.

"When they find out that their child is deaf, their world is crushed... but it's not like that."

Giovanni said that they had kept the silent segment a "special secret" from everyone and explained: "At first, I asked her whether she agreed, because it was between the two of us. She said it was a great idea.

"Sometimes it's not about the scores," he continued. "It's just the message. You have to understand.

"I'm very proud that we achieved that and hopefully we'll inspire other deaf kids to dream," Giovanni added.

Strictly - It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6:30pm on BBC2.
