Strictly fans fear Aljaž Škorjanec will quit after 'goodbye speech' during elimination

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have been left panicking that Aljaž Škorjanec will quit the show for good after his partner Sara Davies was eliminated on Sunday night.

Dragons' Den star Sara went head-to-head with Tilly Ramsay in the dreaded dance-off and all four judges chose to save the 20-year-old student.

Both Sara and Aljaž looked genuinely gutted as they realised their time in the competition had come to an end and had very kind words to say about one another.

Turning to Sara, Aljaž told her: "I feel like from that day we met under the Angel of the North, I was so pleased to dance with you this season.

"Honestly, I wouldn’t want to dance with anybody else. You have been an absolute joy and a testament to hard work - not just on Strictly but with your business and you’re a beautiful mother.

"Thank you for letting me spend so much time not just with you, but with the whole family, the Davies’s that are here tonight, all of the little ones at home.

"I’ve been so welcomed up North, it made me feel like I’m back home in Slovenia because everyone is so lovely and friendly.

"I’m going to miss you so much. I’m going to miss dancing with you. I’m going to miss everything about this show. Thank you everyone and thank you for supporting us," the 31-year-old dancer added.

Some fans tuning in at home felt as if Aljaž was referencing to his future on the popular BBC show.

Aljaz said he was 'going to to miss everything about the show' during his speech on Sunday evening (PA)

Taking to Twitter, one person asked: "Is it Alijaz’s last strictly?? Just something he said #Strictly."

Another person tweeted: "This sounded like a goodbye speech from @AljazSkorjanec I hope it isn’t!!! #strictly."

A third posted: "I have an awful feeling that’s the last of Aljaz too. #Strictly."

And a fourth viewer wrote: "I really hope that wasn’t a last series of strictly speech from aljaz #strictly."

Aljaž, who is married to It Takes Two host Janette Manrara, has been a part of the professional line-up on Strictly since 2013.

That year he won the show with his celebrity partner Abbey Clancy, and has been paired with the likes of Alison Hammond, Helen George and Gemma Atkinson over the years.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6:35pm on BBC One.
