Strictly fans compare Adam Peaty to Kelvin Fletcher as he leaves judges flustered

Strictly Come Dancing fans may have predicted this year's winner already after they compared Adam Peaty to Kelvin Fletcher.

Former Emmerdale actor Kelvin won the glitterball trophy back in 2019, and Adam could well do the same.

The 26-year-old Olympic swimmer left judges Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood flustered on Saturday night after performing the Cha Cha with his professional partner Katya Jones.

Wearing a pair of tight black trousers and a matching shirt, which exposed his chest, Adam's athletic physique was hard to ignore as he shimmied his way around the dance floor.

When it came to time for the judging panel to give their feedback, Shirley and Craig couldn't hide their delight.

First up was Craig who told Adam: "I was glued to every inch of movement darling, you couldn't get my eyes off it I'm afraid. Fantastic, really masculine, strong, going for gold."

Motsi Mabuse then added: "I just fell in love with some of those movements. You have such a refreshing energy and a charisma. Oh my word, I can't wait for the next 16 weeks!"

Shirley was up next and she couldn't have agreed more, and told him: "It was effortless and it moved in every direction and the back part of the body was oozing and a beautiful shape on the New Yorker chemistry.

"And at the end when you tossed your little leg over, I am in awe. That is amazing., well done!" she added.

Anton Du Beke was last to give his critique and added: "Well I'm not quite sure what you've done to the rest of this panel, but listen, it was incredible. It's tremendous, if you just keep that going throughout the series, you'll be just fine, brilliant."

Viewers tuning in at home were quick to make the comparison to Kelvin and took to Twitter to comment.

One person commented: "last time they were all this flustered was Kelvin Fletcher's first week #Strictly."

Another posted: "I knew Adam was underselling himself. I reckon he’s the Kelvin of this series. He had all the hips, can’t wait to see him in the ballroom. I mean he’s not exactly hard to look at either, is he? #Strictly."

"Adam Peaty having a @kelvin_fletcher moment there #strictly," a third wrote, while a fourth added: "Looks like Adam Peaty is this years Kelvin Fletcher!! #scd #strictly."

Someone else simply tweeted: "ADAM WAS INSANE reminded me of kelvin fletcher!!! #Strictly."

However, other fans of the show were preoccupied by Adam's pert derrière.

One tweeted: "Could think of a more tactful, appropriate and acceptable way to say this, but Adam Peaty’s bum is outstanding #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly."

Another added: "I think the star of the show tonight is Adam Peaty Bum ha ha."

And someone else tweeted: "I can definitely get used to watching Adam Peaty wiggling his bum every week!! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

Adam and Katya ended up being joint second on the Strictly leaderboard after receiving a total score of 30.

In first place was TV presenter AJ Odudu and partner Kai Widdrington who impressed everyone with their Jive - which earned them a total score of 34.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
