Strictly fans brand show a 'fix' as Dan Walker avoids dance off for another week

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have dubbed the show a "fix" after Dan Walker remained on the show for another week.

The BBC Breakfast host has avoided the dance-off throughout the competition, and despite the bookies claiming he is favourite to exit most weeks, he has managed to survive show after show.

However, fans have been left unimpressed and confused as Dan and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova made it through on tonight's show and were the first to be announced as safe, whilst Tilly exited the show just before the quarter final.

Viewers took to Twitter as they questioned who is voting for Dan, who danced a tricky rumba this week to Desperado.

" @bbcstrictly Really??! Dan is through again?? What is going on this is fix by miles," one wrote.

Another added: " @bbcstrictly how has Dan gone through again, FIX," with a third sharing online: " @bbcstrictly is a complete fix!! Every week saving their BBC employee Dan Walker who is rubbish!"

"Disgraceful tbh. It's time the breakdown of these votes are shown. Dan Walker is utter rubbish but gets through every week. Oh wait he works for the BBC. Saying it's a fix is a bit of an understatement!!!" a fourth shared.

A fifth slammed Dan missing the dance-off as they said Rhys shouldn't have been there either, writing: " #StrictlyComeDancing is such a fix how can he still be through when he was at the bottom of the leaderboard last week.

"And yet Rhys' dance this week was so beautiful and he got a higher score. The show is a joke first Tom leaves and Dan gets through and now this."

Dan has been subjected to fix rumours for a while now as fans felt confused why he had made it through so many weeks of the show, but former Strictly pro AJ Pritchard defended his place in the competition.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, AJ said: "Nobody has done themselves an injustice, everyone has done themselves proud.

"I think certain people said at the weekend, Dan got a four from Craig but I was like - Dan's improved each week, he's taken constructive criticism."

He added: "He's quite clearly enjoying himself and at the end of the day, is he entertaining to watch? Well the people at home have been voting for him."

*Strictly Come Dancing continues next weekend on BBC One.
