Strictly Curse hits again as Glitterball trophy 'falls apart days before final'

The Strictly Curse is thought to have struck again as the famous Glitterball trophy 'fell apart' just days before the final, according to reports.

It's said that the famous trophy sent bosses into a tizzy when the mirrored pieces began to fall off it.

BBC chiefs had been all set to put it on the show this Saturday night, when either Kelvin Fletcher, Emma Barton or Karim Zeroual will lift it with their professional partner.

But then disaster struck backstage.

An insider told the Daily Star : "Strictly's known for its curses with romances and now we have a new one."

The 'Strictly Curse' has always referred to the amount of relationships the show has broken up, with many stars and pro dancers over the years falling for each other while working together.

It's been said that Emma and her partner Anton Du Beke are more likely than ever to win Strictly this weekend.

It would be a massive moment for Anton as he has never won the BBC dance show despite being on it since the first series in 2004.

Now bookies Coral reckon they could bear Kelvin and Oti Mabuse, who have been thought of as the frontrunners since the beginning.

Kelvin and Oti (PA)

"The momentum behind Emma and Anton is gathering serious pace ahead of Saturday’s Strictly final," Coral spokesman John Hill told The Sun .

"The betting suggested Kelvin had this wrapped up a couple of weeks ago. However, this gamble certainly indicates that is not the case."

Anton and Emma's odds have gone to 3/1 to 5/2 which means bookies think they are more likely than ever to be named champions.

Karim and Amy (PA)

Kelvin and Oti are still the favourites with their odds being at 2/5.

Karim and Amy Dowden are looking like the underdogs with their odds at 12/1.

The BBC did not want to comment when contacted by Mirror Online.
