Strictly Come Dancing: Why Bill Bailey might not be favourite to win anymore

Bill Bailey's position as an unlikely favourite on Strictly Come Dancing took a bit of a knock tonight, after a high-energy jive with partner Oti Mabuse.

The pair took on the 1950s dance, and scored a total of 24 points, with each of the three judges giving the couple eight points.

The dance saw the Bath-born comic dress as a rocker who was also strangely doing surrealist art, as he and Oti jived their way around the Strictly dancefloor in Saturday's show (November 28).

But head judge Shirley Ballas told the couple she'd spotted 'errors' for the first time since he started the series so perfectly to become an unlikely favourite to win.

"I like the fact you study your trade each week - you take your job seriously, and you come out here each week and you give it your best," she said.

"You had attention to detail and you mixed jive with swing, but Bill, having never made any mistakes all throughout the series, there were a couple of mistakes here, and I think that you knew," she added.

"I do have to dock a little point, I adore you but there were errors there.

But the head judge went on to praise the Keynsham comedian's energy and style. "But your stamina, for someone your age, is off the chart," she added.

Judge Craig Revell-Horwood said he found it 'a bit stompy', but praised Bill for his 'own style', which he said he 'absolutely adored'.
