Strictly Come Dancing viewers want Alfonso to stay on show and replace Bruno

Strictly Come Dancing fans are dedicated to say the least.

After a week of guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro stealing viewers' hearts for a second year running, some are clamouring for him to be made a permanent feature of the BBC hit.

Not content with giving the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star a standing role, some want him to replace Bruno Tonioli, who he was sitting in for.

One scolded: "Please can we keep Alfonso and get rid of Bruno #strictly."

Another didn't hold back, writing: "Can we keep Alfonso please? Much better than annoying Bruno #StrictlyComeDancing."

Others, though, seemed happy to express their love of Alfonso.

One gushed: "Absolutely love @alfonso_ribeiro, wish he was on strictly come dancing permanently."

A second reiterated themselves: "Said this last year, but I'll say it again: can we please keep Alfonso? #Strictly."

The star himself took to Twitter after tonight's results show was done and dusted to thank his fellow judges for their warm welcome.

Alfonso wrote: "Thank you @bbcstrictly for having me again this year. This was an epic night. Can't say enough about you amazing judges.

"@ShirleyBallas @CraidRevHorwood @MOTSI_MABUSE Everyone give @BrunoTonioli all the love he truly deserves when he returns next weekend."

Tonight's show saw former England goalkeeper David James and his pro partner Nadiya Bychkova eliminated, after failing to win over the judges during the dance off with Mike Bushell and Katya Jones.

The decision rested on Alfonso's shoulders after both Motsi and Craig elected to send David home - as Alfonso chose to save Mike as well, David was sent packing.

He drew even more adoration from fans last night after he teared up during Will Bayley and Janette Manrara's moving performance.

Their dance was preceded by a visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Will had had operations as a child.

"You gave me chills," he told the Paralympian.

Motsi was in even greater floods of tears, and couldn't get the words out for her feedback - luckily Will was on hand to give her a comforting hug.
