Strictly Come Dancing viewers fuming as Dan Walker takes dance partner Nadiya to Old Trafford

Strictly Come Dancing viewers haven't been shy expressing their annoyance with the actions of contestant Dan Walker.

The BBC Breakfast host presenter took dance partner Nadiya Bychkova to Old Trafford in Saturday night's show.

Fans were unhappy with a video of Dan talking about his passion for football at the home of Manchester United.

He recalled magic moments from his career as a sports presenter as he showed Nadiya the stadium.

But some viewers moaned that football had no place mixing with their beloved Strictly and took to Twitter to have their say.

"Dan, no! Strictly and Bake Off are my sports. Stop talking about football," fumed one..

"Dan lost my interest the moment he started drawing an analogy between football and dance," said another.

"Not Dan mansplaining Old Trafford to the nation," grumbled another.

Others were confused by the visit when it appeared to have no connection to their couple's choice performance of a street dance in brightly coloured outfits with the paired billed as movie stars in the background.

"Loved the VT of Dan fanboying at Old Trafford but it had no connection to the dance.," said one.

And another pointed out: "Sorry, so Dan gives a (bloody lovely) spiel on the VT about loving football and his career as a commentator, then the couple’s choice dance is about them being… movie stars?

"Where did that come from? I’m confused."

Other fans praised their upbeat routine for making them smile.

"Dan & Nadia on couples choice, Dan looked relaxed tonight and it showed in his performance, made me smile and had a lovely sweetness to it," tweeted one.

"Dan may not be the best dancer in the competition but he's throwing himself in every week and every time I see him dance I can't help but smile," said another.

And another said: "For me this is Dan's best dance so far. So fun and entertaining. And made me smile."
