Strictly Come Dancing viewers were treated to a dazzling opening number this weekend as they celebrated the musicals.
Fans of the BBC One dance show were wowed as pro dancers Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez and Johannes Radebe performed in drag alongside a giant pink stiletto in a Priscilla Queen of the Desert-inspired routine.
It was hailed as 'fabulous' and the 'campest, glitziest opening ever.'
But some viewers took took to Twitter to complain.
"Used to be a family show. Will stop watching," moaned one.
"It is one thing to support equal rights and completely another to promote homosexuality etc. "Very sad indeed."
"Strictly gone weird tonight," tweeted another.
"My grandchildren are completely confused..." grumbled another viewer.
"So many questions from my 9 year old," another tweeted.
This was batted away by other Strictly fans.
"Mine too, and a brilliant conversation came from it. "She's now looking for a fan and boa so she can be a drag queen too," said one.
"Questions are never a problem, it's the answers that cause prejudice."
"Opportunity for you to educate them then!" said another.
The routine was a resounding hit with other fans.
"Gorka as a woman....stunning! My favourite Strictly dance ever!" said one.
"Strictly is bringing the fab to fabulous tonight!" raved another.
"Fabulously camp and gorgeous in every way," said another
Another gasped: "The Strictly lads in drag!!!! Life doesn't get better than this!!!"
"Never thought I'd see Gorka and Gio in drag. That was fabulous," said another.
"Seeing Johannes dressed in drag and having the time of his life in an dazzling performance made my day!! What a fabulous dancer," commented another fan.
Another wrote: " I didn't realise that what my 2020 was missing was Johannes leading his fellow drag queens in the campest, glitziest opening ever but good lord, yes please, that has just made my year so much better."
Another praised: "Best opening ever! Please keep up the inclusive content BBC and Strictly! Johannes you are the best!"
"My only issue with the opening is they all had way better looking legs than me," mused another fan.
