Strictly Come Dancing surprise guest Russell Crowe fluffs lines in message to Tom Fletcher

Movie star Russell Crowe dropped into Strictly Come Dancing tonight to wish contestant Tom Fletcher well.

The McFly star's Couple's Choice was performed to music from Les Miserables on tonight's Musicals Week.

After performing, a video was played of Crowe, who played a starring role in the movie version of the show.

However, it appeared Crowe lost his way slightly as he delivered his message.

He told Tom: "I hear you have succumbed to your passion for dancing. I hear you are doing very well. I expect you to achieve at the higher level. That is in your nature."

But then he began to lose his way, ending with: "Do enjoy your dance. I can’t remember the details I was meant to talk about."

The sentiment was not lost on Tom though, who appeared to appreciate the gesture..

Tonight is Musicals Week, with the remaining celebrities taking to the dancefloor in a bid to impress the judges.

Craig Revel Horwood is noticeably absent from the judging panel after testing positive for Coronavirus. Instead Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke have been joined by award-winning singer and actress Cynthia Erivo.

Fighting for a place next week are EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice, who are the current favourites to win.

John Whaite and partner Johannes Radebe are also among the bookies favourites with AJ Odudu and her dance partner Kai Widdrington not far behind.

BBC breakfast presenter Dan Walker, McFly band member Tom Fletcher and Gordon Ramsay's daughter Tilly are also battling to retain their position in the contest.

Tilly, who has landed in the bottom two twice so far, could also be at risk of elimination in tomorrow's results show.
