Strictly Come Dancing stars share first look at emotional Remembrance Day tribute

Strictly Come Dancing stars have given a first look glimpse of their powerful tribute for Remembrance Day, to air on Sunday evening.

The professional dancers, including Anton Du Beke, Amy Dowden, AJ Pritchard and Aljaž Škorjanec, will perform a special dance to coincide with the annual memorial that marks the end of World War One - remembering members of armed forces who died in the line of duty.

To honour those who died in the war, and pay tribute for Remembrance Day, the Strictly stars have prepared a moving routine for the latest episode.

Professional dancer Anton confessed rehearsing the performance left him in tears.

Now, AJ and Aljaž have both offered a moving glimpse to the dance before it airs on BBC One on Sunday evening.

This year, the dance will take place at a train station, with loved ones saying goodbye to one another - not knowing whether they will see one another again.

Taking to Instagram , Aljaž shared a powerful image of him dressed as a soldier, with co-star Karen Hauer seen behind him sat on a bench dressed in similar attire.

As Aljaž makes his way down the floor surrounded by empty benches, the clock behind him is positioned at 11am - the time in which the war came to an end.

AJ Pritchard posted a tribute ahead of the Strictly performance (Instagram)

He said alongside the photo: "A very special performance on  @bbcstrictly  tonight. Lest we forget.."

AJ also posted a touching tribute, adding: "We will never forget..  #rememberancesunday  It’s a Beautiful routine tonight.. @bbcstrictly ."

He too posted a snap of him from the routine which he described as being "beautiful".

In his black and white photo, he too is sat by the clock on a bench wearing a similar outfit to Aljaž.

Dressed as a soldier, AJ is joined by Karen and two other female dancers who are in the background all dressed in camouflage wear and boots.

Anton previously confessed practicing the routine had left him in tears.

Speaking at rehearsals, Anton said: "I'm playing a father. It's a bit emotional because I can't imagine leaving my children and not coming back."

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturdays on BBC One, with the results show on Sundays.
