Strictly Come Dancing stars look unrecognisable in teen throwback snap as they celebrate birthday

These two Strictly Come Dancing professionals look unrecognisable in this throwback snap form when they were teenagers.

The pals shared the nostalgic photos to Instagram to celebrate the birthday of Luba Mushtuk, who turned 33 on November 14.

Fellow Russian dancer Katya Jones uploaded the pics to her Instagram stories as she wished her old pal happy birthday.

In the snaps, Katya is wearing a black long sleeved leotard, while Luba donned a purple flamenco style skirt as she pouted at the camera.

Over the photo, Katya wrote: “Well this is just perfect to wish you a HAPPY BRTHDAY my friend @lubamushtuk.”

The pro dancer, who is also 33, added a laughing face emoji to the snap as she said: “Look at us.”

Reposting the photos to her own Instagram stories, Luba wrote back: “Let’s celebrate wearing better outfits than this.”

And they did as the dancers revealed they headed out for a fancy Italian dinner with Strictly pals Oti Mabuse, Vito Coppola and Fleur East.

Later on Strictly winner Rose Ayling-Ellis popped in on the celebrations and raised a glass of Aperol Spritz to the birthday girl.

The celebrations come days after it was announced Katya and her partner Tony Adams would be leaving the competition.

The former footballer made the shock decision to leave the ITV show after revealing he had suffered an injury earlier in the week during rehearsals.

Arsenal legend Tony would have been in the dance-off with Dianne Buswell and Tyler West.

But the 56-year-old decided to bow out gracefully, meaning Dianne and Tyler went through to Blackpool.

Speaking about his exit on Strictly: It Takes Two, Tony told host Rylan Clark: "They gave me the choice, they were very professional the BBC.

"The physio was first class, they said 'It's your decision Tony, do you want to go for it?' my wife said 'My mum's coming, you've got to dance', I looked into her eyes and she went 'Hmm... Come on!'"

He added: "It's been amazing, this has been great, coming on here every week and chatting to you guys, I've loved this more than the dancing.

"It's been incredible, I came onto the show with one message to get the message of mental health out there."

Tony's wife Poppy slammed the decision was down to any backstage drama following claims of a feud between him and Katya.

She revealed the reason her husband left was down to a ‘dodgy knee’ and nothing more.

Poppy told MailOnline : "Taking part has taken its toll and it was time to drop out. He has gone much further on the show than he had hoped and it was time to leave.

"They (Tony and Katya) are both punchy people and give as good as they get. He adored her and there was never a row as people have said - he has left because his body can’t take any more."
