Strictly Come Dancing star completes marathon hours after wowing judges with dance moves

Strictly Come Dancing 's Tyler West's dedication knows no bounds as he recently completed the London Marathon after competing in the dance competition.

The 26-year-old radio DJ has been busy rehearsing complicated dance moves all week in preparation for each weekend's performances with partner Dianne Buswell.

During the second live show of the series on Saturday night, Tyler and Dianne performed a theatrical routine, dancing the jive to Hit The Road Jack by Buster Poindexter.

The exercise didn't stop him from taking part in the marathon while Dianne stood at the sidelines cheering him on.

Posting on her Instagram story, Dianne praised her dance partner: “@tylerwestt was still on the run from last night’s bank robbery jive!

“So much so he just ran a marathon!!! Absolutely amazing, well done partner.”

West was running the road race in aid of national youth work charity UK Youth, which works to provide opportunities to young people in the UK.

Before the marathon, Tyler took to his Instagram Stories to show his race number and added: "We’re moving to the start line, it’s absolutely crazy.”

Meanwhile, the day before, Tyler and Dianne were busy impressing judges with their jive.

Strictly pair started the dance by jumping out of an old-fashioned motor car placed in the middle of the dancefloor.

They also used suitcases stuffed with bank notes as props throughout the performance.

Judges loved the performance and gave them a 31. It also secured him a standing ovation from head judge Shirley Ballas.

She said: "You’re the real deal. You bring something you can’t teach. You’ve got an attitude, you’ve got a soul… I flippin’ loved it."
