Strictly Come Dancing spoiler leaks quarter final result as star given dealt crushing blow

A Strictly Come Dancing star has been dealt a crushing blow after this week's spoiler leaked the result from a closely fought quarter final on Friday night, with the outcome once again dividing fans.

There was a big change to the Strictly schedule this week when the BBC moved the latest live show of the new series from Saturday to Friday night, to accommodate this weekend's World Cup knockouts coverage. After getting their heads around the change of day, there was plenty for Strictly fans to enjoy as the quarter final took on a Musicals Week theme.

The night got going with a show-stopping musical medley from Strictly pro dancers and a trio of West End stars, which saw last week's eliminated pro Johannes Radebe steal the spotlight as a pink lady for the Grease segment, as Oti Mabuse returned to Strictly to choregraph. The performances from the remaining six couples in contention for the Glitterball trophy this year were also a sight to behold, as Will Mellor and Helen Skelton had to share the top of the leaderboard, after both getting near perfect scores of 39 out of 40.

At the other end, while she still got got 34, Kym Marsh finished bottom, after missing last week's Strictly due to Covid. Fleur East finished third on 38 the same score as Molly Rainford, while bookies favourite Hamza Yassin got 36.

With this week's Strictly results show airing on Saturday, rather than Sunday, there was some speculation on when this week's spoiler would surface online. It leaked on Twitter not long before 11.30pm on Friday night and, as ever, fans were quick to react. One made their feelings known by simply tweeting: "Livid," while a second condemned the judges' decision, reacting: "Nah they saved the wrong one."
