Strictly Come Dancing's Will Bayley 'set to quit' show after freak injury

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Bayley could quit the show as early as today due to a horror injury he suffered in rehearsals.

Team GB Paralympian Will suffered a freak injury to his knee hours before Strictly's live show on Saturday after a jumping stunt went wrong and now it's being reported that BBC insiders say he only has "a slim chance" of returning to the dancefloor.

A source told  The Sun : "Will is devastated as he’s put everything into the series and a freak injury looks like it may well be the end of the road for him.

"He’s got a final consultation today and that could be it."

Will and pro partner Janette were given a pass through to this week but show rules dictate that this could only be handed out once due to injury or illness.

Chris Ramsey's bizarre Strictly dreams

Will's freak injury wasn't the only one to blight last weekend's Strictly live show. Former England Lioness Alex Scott had to dance with last year's winning professional, Kevin Clifton, after her partner Neil Jones was injured in training for their Couple's Choice routine to Ghostbusters.

As of yet, there hasn't been any update on Neil's injury. Katya Jones is also rumoured to have picked up a knock but she did appear alongside celeb partner Mike Bushell on Tuesday night's It Takes Two.

A Strictly insider added "There are quite a few on the treatment table at the moment so producers are hoping there are some quick recoveries, particularly with Katya and Neil.

"In an ideal world they will both be able to shake off their knocks in time for the weekend so that Alex and Mike are not left needing stand-in professionals.”
