Stacey Dooley injury concern as Strictly Come Dancing star 'holds back' in rehearsal with Kevin Clifton

Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley has sparked fears her dance could be jeopardised on Saturday night after an injury has forced her to “hold back” in rehearsals.

Dooley – who is partnered with Kevin Clifton - missed days of training ahead of their Street dance routine after injuring her ribs.

The BBC Three star assured fans that “nothing was broken” with a hospital bed snap earlier this week and, on Thursday, returned to rehearsals with a “sick note”.

But, reviewing their training footage on It Takes Two, Ian Waite admitted that it looks as if Dooley could be “holding back” in their routine as a result of what happened.

He told host Zoe Ball: “Every time she turns she is kind of holding herself and I do believe she’d had an injury but luckily they are still practising.

“I think they’re going to be okay for Saturday but I think it has set them back a little bit.

"Fingers crossed they’re going to be okay.”

The pair, who have been receiving high scores in recent weeks, will take on the Couples Choice for week seven, opting for a Street dance to Empire State Of Mind.

And professional dancer Clifton revealed on Twitter that he changed the routine “about 11 times” to accomodate Dooley’s injury.

Dooley impressed with her Doctor Who theme Tango during last week's Halloween special.

But their score of 35 was not enough for top spot after Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer received three 10s each, leaving them with a total of 39.

It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6.30pm on BBC Two. Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.05pm.
