Strictly Come Dancing's Stacey Dooley breaks silence on injury fears: 'Nothing's broken'

Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley has confirmed “nothing is broken” and that she will dance on Saturday night after sparking injury fears.

The BBC Three presenter – who is paired with Kevin Cliftonpanicked fans on Monday night after posting a photo of a woman’s torso in a plaster cast with the caption “current sitch” .

But now Dooley has returned to social media to share a snap from her hospital bed, allaying fears of an early exit from the competition as she thanked staff for their help.

Dooley wrote: “Nothings broke! All the drugs and all the cuppas gonna hook us up! See you Sat!

“THANK YOU SO SO MUCH TO ALL THE STAFF. You are all bloody amazing.”

Fans rushed to comment on the picture, sending love and best wishes to the injured dancer who has enjoyed high scores in recent weeks.

One wrote: “Hope you ok ? Take care. Big hugs to you both x.”

While another said: “Oh no! What happened? Hope you are going to be ok! Take it easy....as much as you can x.”

“Oh no!!! hope u are recovered soon from your injury. Love you and Kev keep dancing,” read another.

Dooley “tore an intercostal muscle behind a rib,” according to The Sun, and is “strapped up” but has been advised she should be able to move in a “couple of days”.

Dooley and Clifton wowed with their Halloween week Tango to the Doctor Who theme last weekend, with the documentary maker taking on both female and male parts of the dance.

A BBC spokesperson told Standard Online: "Stacey has a bruised rib and needs to rest it for a day. She will be back in training tomorrow.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday November 3 at 7.05pm on BBC One.
