Strictly Come Dancing's Oti Mabuse announces big career news

Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has shared huge career news with her many social media followers.

The professional dancer said her "heart is filled with excitement and joy", as she unveiled the details of her latest TV role.

Oti will host a brand new dating show, due to air later this year.

Romeo + Duet is billed as a dating show for "fabulous singing singles".

Its launch article on ITV's website asks: "Can your singing win you a date? Are you sick of singing solo?"

Applications are still being accepted, with those wishing to apply having until January 26 to do so.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Oti said: "My heart is just filled with excitement and joy about this announcement.

"I’m so thrilled to be the host of the brand new ITV show Romeo & duet due to air later on this year.

"To @mel_md_goat_films who is such a positive light in my life and has done nothing but support and motivate me, i adore you and thank you for being an IMPOSSIBLE WOMAN"

A number of the 31-year-old's celebrity friends have wished her well.

Dermot O'Leary said: "Go Mabuse! x"

Fellow Strictly dancer Dianne Buswell said: "Congratulations mabuse"

Daisy Lowe said: "Congratulations Oti- can’t wait to see what you create xxx big love xxx"

Adele Roberts said: "Love seeing you smash it you Queen! Xxx"

It's the second career announcement in the space of a few weeks for Oti, who will also become the new judge for 2022's Dancing On Ice.

The skating competition will air on ITV and the ITV Hub later this month.
