Strictly Come Dancing's new series to undergo major set-up changes

Popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing is set to undergo some major changes ahead of its new season airing.

The programme has been under some strict coronavirus regulations during the filming of the show in the pandemic. However, next series will see the changes revoked completely.

Clear panels between the judges will be removed, and a full studio audience will return to the show, reports the Liverpool Echo. Panellist Anton du Beke, who has just been made a permanent fixture on the show, has been excited for the show to return to normal.

He said: "What I hope we are able to do this year, actually, is that we can get rid of the screens because we have had the screens up over the last couple of the years and the judges slightly separated. I am hoping we can get a bit closer so we can have a bit more chat amongst ourselves."

One change that will remain the same, however, is the group dances being filmed prior to the Sunday show. This is staying in the rule book due to the pre-filming being easier for all involved, and giving dancer more time to train.

A BBC source said: "While final plans are still being nailed down and kept fluid, Strictly bosses are planning to pre-record some of the pro dancer routines again this summer. They are also hoping to have a full studio audience back watching the live show each week."

The live studio audience is the one change that had been hanging in the balance, due to the relaxing of restrictions across the country. But it does appear that producers are ready to have a fully seated venue for the upcoming new season.

Although no date has been confirmed as of yet, Strictly Come Dancing looks set to return by this September. You can keep up to date with the show on their official social media accounts.
