Strictly Come Dancing's Neil Jones returns to show but is left red-faced by judge's 'affair' comment

Professional dancer Neil Jones returned to Strictly Come Dancing tonight - but found himself in an awkward situation with one of the judges.

Neil, who is paired with former professional footballer Alex Scott, had missed two episodes of the BBC series due to a calf injury and current Strictly champion Kevin Clifton stepped in to dance with her.

However, Neil returned this week and he and Alex impressed judges with a jive.

But Neil found himself red-faced when new judge Motsi Mabuse commented on their routine.

She said: "I feel like we are seeing a new couple that we once knew but then somebody had an affair and then the light was back on."

Neil smiled but looked uncomfortable while Alex laughed beside him.

Motsi's comments come a year after Neil's then wife, fellow professional dancer Katya Jones, hit headlines when she was photographed kissing her celebrity dance partner Seann Walsh and there were calls for them to be sacked from the show.

While Seann was dumped by his long-term girlfriend, Katya and Neil's marriage survived for several months before they announced in the summer that they were separating, although a spokesman for the couple insisted it had nothing to do with the kiss.

Neil and Alex were awarded a total of 31 points out of 40 for their jive.
