Strictly Come Dancing's major shake-up as professional dancers get own show

Strictly Come Dancing is going up against Simon Cowell's new version of Celebrity X Factor and Britain's Got Talent by having its own special version' for this year's series.

The Strictly professionals are stars in their own right after 15 years of wowing the viewers, and now BBC bosses are planning to dedicate a special edition of the show to the talented dancers.

"Previously, there has been a rather awkward two-week gap between the first and second episode. This will keep the momentum going, though the competition has yet to fully kick off," an insider told The Sun .

It's an attempt to give the Strictly fans a little bit more of their favourite professionals.

"The BBC's attitude is to make the most of the affection for many of the show's now-famous dancers. After all, they make up a massive part of Strictly's popularity," the source added.
