Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones suffers a tumble during live performance with Mike Bushell

Katya Jones gave a masterclass in quick recoveries after falling over during a live performance on Strictly Come Dancing.

The dancer and her celebrity partner, Mike Bushell, were performing a Cha Cha Cha when the professional stumbled and fell onto the dance floor.

Katya had been dancing towards Mike, who was walking backwards, when she fell.

The BBC Breakfast journalist briefly broke character to help her back onto her feet and ever the professional, the 30-year-old kept a smile on her face and styled out the incident.

Unfortunately, there was further trouble ahead.

As the pair made their way up to greet Claudia Winkleman and receive their scores, the dancer tripped up again, prompting Claudia to check if she was ok.

Katya then plastered another smile back onto her face for the scoring, which saw the duo receive a grand total of 18 for their dance.

Tomorrow evening, we'll discovered whether the pair received enough votes to save them from the bottom two.

At the other end of the leaderboard, Kelvin Fletcher scored the first 10s of the current series, receiving top marks from Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.

Michelle Visage also wowed the judges, receiving three 9s for her Cabaret-themed Quickstep.
