Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Laing says he won't be hit by the show's curse

Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Laing has vowed not to be hit by the show’s famous curse – even though he has imagined kissing his professional partner.

Note: In showbusiness terms that means, please, please, please let me be embroiled in a seedy love affair so I can become the star of the show.

In recent years, the so-called ‘curse’ has led to a string of public break-ups after some celebs got off with their partners.

Last year’s winner Stacey Dooley dumped her fella to get together with professional dancer Kevin Clifton.

That was after villainous Seann Walsh cheated on his girlfriend by snogging dancer Katya Jones, even getting caught in the act.

But Jamie, 30, who is dating Made In Chelsea co-star Sophie Habboo, 25, insists he is not going to get overly close when learning routines.

Jamie says: “The Strictly curse is where you dance with your dance partner, get really close to them... I think that’s what happened to Seann Walsh.

"So many people have got with their Strictly dancers. I will still be seeing Habboo, I’m not going to start kissing my dancer!

“I’ve been thinking about this – imagine if she was front row, if I’d got to the end and potentially I was going to win it and there was all these rumours going around that I was flirting or getting with my partner.

"Habboo was on the front row but after the very last dance I spun her round and we started kissing! It wouldn’t be something I’d do!”

But you’ve definitely thought about it, mate. Watch this space...
