Strictly’s HRVY bombarded with messages from randy OAPs after making final

Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY has been bombarded with messages from swooning pensioners after making the final in the show.

Since completing the dancing competition with pro partner Janette Manrara, OAPs can't seem to get enough of the singer.

"MILFs? Do you know what, I think it’s NILFs actually. There’s a lot of nans in my DMs," he recently revealed to The Sun.

"I get recognised now. In restaurants, when I take my mask off and sit down, I have quite a few nans and older people come up and say, ‘We watched you on the show, you did really well’, that’s really nice."

At least none of it is X-rated.

While HRVY was on the show, it was rumoured that he and fellow contestant Maisie Smith were dating.

The pair were said to have formed a close bond during their time on the show, although were unable to socialise because of the strict coronavirus rules in place.

At the time, he said: "It’s dancing first — then love and fun afterwards.

"Maisie’s an amazing girl, very beautiful, but for now I’m just going to concentrate on the dancing because I fancy getting to the final."

HRVY had refused to rule out a romance with the EastEnders actress and added "next year, you never know".

He said: "Everyone loves Maisie – she's great, a really kind soul. We're a similar age and she has become a good friend, but we can't become properly close because of the restrictions."

However, HRVY, real name Harvey Cantwell, finally confessed that there was no romance between him and Maisie, 19, but they decided to play up their close friendship to get everyone talking.

"Nothing happened. It was funny to watch everyone talk about it. Sometimes we were like, 'Shall we play up to it?' We are really good friends and still speak,” he told The Sun.
