Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice first to heap praise as show makes huge change to live tour
Giovanni Pernice was among the first to applaud Strictly Come Dancing for making a huge change to its live tour.
The Italian dancer is one of the many stars of the BBC dance contest to be heading out on the road with the live tour.
Giovanni will be reunited with his dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis weeks after they lifted the Glitterball trophy during last month's final.
The Strictly live tour 2022, which kicks on in Birmingham on January 20 and arrives in Manchester at the AO Arena at the end of the month, will also see finalist John Whaite back on the dancefloor with Johannes Radebe.
The remaining stars lined up for the tour are Sara Davies, Tilly Ramsay, Rhys Stephenson and Strictly 2020 alumni Max George and Maisie Smith.
Janette Manrara, who spent to 2021 series hosting spin-off show It Takes Two, will also be hitting the road as the tour's host.
And on Monday (January 10) it was revealed that a huge change is being made to the arena show, inspired by Strictly's first-ever deaf contestant - and winner - Rose.
Strictly announced on the social media pages for the tour that a registered BSL Interpreter will be provided for every venue.
The post reads: "BREAKING NEWS! We are delighted to announce that a registered BSL Interpreter will be provided for every venue and performance of the tour, making this the biggest ever BSL accessible arena tour in the UK.
"The interpreter will be displayed on two very large screens either side of the stage area so attendees can book tickets and sit almost anywhere in the arena to enjoy the experience with family and friends.
"For more information about how to book tickets please visit www.strictlycomedancinglive.com (via the link on our profile). To apply for PA assistance please contact your local venue."
The post, which included a video of an interpreter signing the news, ended by saying: "We look forward to seeing you there!"
Giovanni was quick to comment on the Instagram post confirming the news.
He simply said: "Amazing," alongside a string of heart emojis.
Strictly pro Katya Jones, who will be dancing with Rhe Wanted's Max on the tour, commented: "Phenomenal news!!"
And fans were also praising the move.
@ryans_ingleby_garden said: "Absolutely incredible announcement! So pleased with how the world is changing."
"Well this is just amazing!!! Long long long long may it continue," @nicoladownie wrote.
@rupsidupsi26 commented: "How wonderful. What an impact Rose has made. Well done Rose."
"This is incredible. Well done to everyone involved but especially to @rose.a.e who is changing attitudes," @iamvictoriamp shared.
@kerryhampson685 added: "All down email@example.com and @pernicegiovann1 they really are the best team and should be very very proud of yourself. Coming from a boring individual who has now purchased tickets for both the tour and @pernicegiovann1 tour you have definitely drawn me in. See you in Manchester."
Rose and Giovanni have already shared a look at their reunion since they were announced as Strictly 2021 winners.
The EastEnders actress from Manchester and the professional dancer went out for dinner at Italian restaurant Gola in Fulham, and Giovanni documented the pair's night on his Instagram.
