Strictly Come Dancing latest: Catherine Tyldesley 'nearly vomits' after difficult rehearsal session

Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals have been so gruelling that Catherine Tyldesley almost vomited on her professional dance partner.

Practice for the very first live episode is underway and the former Coronation Street star, 35, has been finding preparation difficult.

In a candid video posted on Instagram, Tyldesley opened up about how punishing the training has been so far, revealing that she was left her 'retching'.

Next to a post featuring her professional partner Johannes Radebe, the actress wrote: "Bless you for putting up with my heaving and SHOCKING memory."

In a video, she said: "Do we really want to talk about what happened?"

After laughing, Tyldesley admitted: "It's all going to be okay... I wasn't sick. I didn't vomit on you yet... I retched."

Radebe back her up on her claim by saying: "She did... it's fine, it's okay."

The actress concluded the video by assuring her followers: "It's day two, nobody panic. I am going to have a strong coffee. Tomorrow is a better day."

Tyldesley's preparations for the show began long before rehearsals officially began.

Speaking to Standard Online, she previously revealed that her personal trainer husband had been helping her in the gym, laughing that they're “still married” despite “stressful” cardio sessions.

“I’ve done more cardio,” the actress said. “My husband is a PT and he said, ‘Let’s try and get your feet moving faster,’ because I’m used to weight training.

“The first few sessions I did with him he’d be like, ‘Ok, now go fast,’ and I’d be like ‘No this is fast, this is it.’

“So that’s been quite stressful. But we’re still married.”

The couple have a four-year-old son, Alfie, together and Tyldesley added that he’s “excited” for her to hit the dancefloor.

“My little boy is just so excited,” she said. “In the wardrobe we found him a little sequinned dickie bow so when he’s watching he can wear it.”

Following last weekend’s launch episode, the first live episode of Strictly airs on September 21.
