Strictly Come Dancing row as fans make the same critique during Saturday night's episode

It was another night of joy, tears, and plenty of dancing on Saturday night.

Of course, we can only be talking about Strictly Come Dancing with the remaining couples vying for the Glitterball trophy.

It was another glittering evening with near-perfect scores.

But baffled viewers of the BBC One competition were making the same critique throughout the episode.

AJ Odudu and her professional partner Kai Wadding earned 39 points for their dazzling Charleston the was jam-packed with classic moves and plenty of lifts.

And McFly star Tom Fletcher came back from a disappointing Halloween week to impress the judges with his paso doble to Amparito Roca by Jaime Texidor with partner Amy Dowden - bagging his first 10's of the series.

Meanwhile, after making history last week, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice earned themselves a score of 32, their highest marking for a Latin dance, for their samba.

AJ and Kai topped the leaderboard (PA)

There always has to be someone at the bottom of the leaderboard and after surviving last Saturday's dance-off, it was Adam Peaty and partner Katya Jones who found themselves at the back with a score of 27.

He was followed by BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker who could also be in jeopardy after his couple’s choice dance to Classic by MKTO with partner Nadiya Bychkova which saw them awarded a score of 28.

But some Strictly viewers have accused head judge Shirley Ballas of 'overmarking her favourites', while others have slammed 'ridiculous' marking.

Shirley's scoring was slammed by viewers (BBC)

"How can Shirley think Dan's dance was better than Tilly's lol #strictly #strictlycomedancing," one tweeted.

Another fumed: "Shirley is overmarking her favourites tonight. No way did Dan or Rhys deserve more than Tilly and no doubt she will give AJ a 20 regardless of how good it is. #strictly."

"Dan ridiculously overmarked. #strictly," a third argued.

Some think Dan was 'overmarked' (PA)

A fourth added: "So Shirley has given Tilly 9’s in previous rounds, says she’s improved this week and given her a 7! Ridiculous marking #Strictly."

"The scoring takes the p**s. We all saw that Tom wasn’t perfect so why score it a 10? It makes a whole mockery of the competition #SCD #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing," another complained.

It wasn't just Shirley as Craig was also called out for being 'stingy'.

AJ and Kai got a near-perfect score (BBC)

"#Strictly . 39/40 for AJ and Kai!!!!!!! What a wonderful score so happy for her. That was worth 4 10's though ngl. Craig is stingy," tweeted one.

Another said: "The fact Craig gave Aj and Kai a 9 and they didn’t get a 40, A TRAVESTY!!! I have no words! They deserved a 40!"

"How can Craig possibly say Sara was an 8 and AJ was only 1 point better at a 9. AJ and Kai should have been a 40 no question," a third added.

A fourth responded: "Craig scoring AJ a 9???? PACK IT IN. Outrageous. Should have been a 10! #Strictly."

And others were just unimpressed.

"Bonkers marking on a weekly basis... #Strictly," one viewer commented.

Fans were also unimpressed by Tilly's scores (BBC)

A second tweeted: "Not at all worth a 10 - very very odd marking from judges tonight. Are they picking out who they want to get through to semi final? #strictly."

"The marking is so inconsistent I can’t keep up…some dances are so overmarked, yet others get really undermarked…#strictly #StrictlyComeDancing," a third added.

The results of the public vote will be revealed on Sunday night.
