Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight for glitzy Movie Week special

Strictly Come Dancing is finally back on our screens this evening after nearly a year away and, considering the panic surrounding COVID-19 potentially sabotaging the show, it's a relief to see some semblance of it back on the BBC.

Sadly, we won't be getting a peak at this year's batch of celebrities showing their dance moves. Instead, Strictly is rewinding time to Movie Week to reminisce the best (and worst) moments from every year.

From Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani's jaw-dropping Pulp Fiction jive to Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton's stunning Singin' in the Rain American Smooth, fans will be given a lovely wander down memory lane.

Other memorably odd moments will also sneak their way into this evening, including Anne Widdecombe's bizarre Hello, Dolly! routine.

The best group routines will also air, including last year's superhero blockbuster routine.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are also back at the Strictly helm to navigate the best bits episode.

Joining them are Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and even Bruno Tonioli.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, Bruno can't take part in the main show this year for the very first time as he can't fly between his LA home, where he judges Dancing With The Stars, and London.

Thankfully, fans will be able to get a glimpse of him tonight, albeit in a very socially distanced format in the comfort of his own home.

The pro dancers will also take part tonight as they open up about their favourite movie-themed week dances and best moments over the years.

*Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One
