Strictly Come Dancing result leaves fans fuming as Caroline Quentin goes and Maisie is in dance-off

For the second week in a row, Strictly Come Dancing have been left shocked and outraged by the result.

If you thought last weekend’s outcome was a shocker after Maisie Smith landed in the bottom two, there was more devastation for the young EastEnders actress just seven days later as she ended up in the same heartbreaking predicament again.

The 19-year-old starlet got three 9s on Saturday night but that wasn’t enough to keep her out of the drop zone and, after she was kept in Strictly 2020 over Max George last weekend, Maisie and pro partner Gorka Marquez had to dance off against Caroline Quentin and Johannes Radebe to stay in the competition.

Caroline was too praised by the judges on Saturday after her flirty cha cha cha to Rescue Me, but, in the end, all three judges elected to save Maisie, thus sending the former Men Behaving Badly actress home and out of the contest.

And, while it was Maisie’s lack of public support that sparked the biggest reaction, viewers were angry Caroline found herself in danger as well.

One tweeted: " @quentyquestions & @jojo_radebe in the dance off you’re all rubbish British Public," and a second reacted: "No way should Caroline be in the dance off!"

There was even more disbelief at the public's treatment of Maisie. One viewer blasted: "maisie in the dance off again what the fuck???? the public clearly don’t like young confident women and it shows!!"

Another reacted: "GODF***INGDAMMIT IT'S A DISGRACE MAISIE IS IN THE BOTTOM TWO" and a third tweeted: "BOTTOM 2!? Again!? The disrespect to Maisie from the British public is outrageous!!!

Even judge Craig Revel-Horwood was stunned but told Maisie to use Alesha Dixon as an example on how someone can win over the public, after the former Mis-Teeq singer landed in the bottom two on the way to winning the show alongside pro partner Matthew Cutler in 2007.
