Strictly Come Dancing pro Neil Jones slams reports he laughed at ex Katya's expense following live fall

Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones has revealed what he actually said to his ex Katya Jones after she fell during her performance.

Professional dancer Katya fell over on the BBC live show on Saturday night while dancing to It's Raining Men with her celeb partner Mike Bushell.

Slipping on confetti, she tripped and fell onto her back before styling it out and carrying on with the Magic Mike-themed Cha-cha-cha.

But her estranged husband Neil has had to defend himself after he was accused of laughing at Katya's expense when she returned to receive their scores and talk to Claudia Winkleman before falling for a SECOND time.

Neil, who was stood with his fellow professionals and the celebrities, was seen laughing and smirking as Claudia helped her up.

Taking to Twitter, the 37-year-old said: "So everyone is clear no one was [laughing] at @Mrs_katjones fall on Saturday.

"We were [laughing] at the fact she styled it out and still made @mikebreakfast finished the routine and then we all said fall when she got into Claudia's area so she did as a joke and that's why we were [laughing] again."

Viewers and fans of the show were left confused by Katya's actions following the live mistake - but now her second fall does make sense.

The 30-year-old Russian dancer has since joked about the blunder.

Katya said after the live show: "Guys! I'm totally fine! No idea what happened So sorry. But so proud of @mikebreakfast for carrying on and delivering 'the dolphin'!"

And then had to deny she was drunk.

"FYI I did it again on purpose in Claudia's area! And im def not drunk as some people think," she tweeted.

In August, Katya and Neil announced their separation after six years of marriage in an official statement.

They said the split was a "mutual decision" and that they "will always love each other" as friends.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
