Strictly Come Dancing odds suggest this week's result is 'foregone conclusion'

Bookies have had their say on this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing elimination, with the latest odds suggesting that the result is a foregone conclusion, before any of the couple's have even set foot on the dancefloor.

There was a shock in the BBC ballroom last weekend when consistently high scorer Rhys Stephenson ended up in the bottom two, despite getting an impressive 32 out of 40 for his American Smooth alongside pro partner Nancy Xu.

Rhys looked gutted to land in the dance-off, with judge Shirley Ballas equally taken aback to see him in danger.

In the end it was fellow dance-off couple Ugo and Oti who left Strictly, but viewers were still reeling about Rhys being in the bottom long after the credits rolled on Sunday's results show.

But, while last week's result came as a surprise, bookmakers are confident that Judi Love will get her marching orders from the dancefloor this weekend.

The Loose Women star is returning from a week off after contracting Covid-19 but experts thing her comeback will be very short-lived, with Betfair putting her well ahead of the pack on odds of 4/7.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: "Having been given a bye to Week 6 after her positive COVID test, Judi Love finds herself as the clear 4/7 odds-on favourite to be eliminated from the dancefloor this weekend.

"BBC presenter Dan Walker follows behind at 5/1 and Rhys Stephenson, who found himself in the bottom two in Week 5 despite a strong performance, is 11/2 to leave."

William Hill are equally pessimistic about Judi's prospects, putting her on 1/2 to get the chop.

Rupert Adams, Spokesperson for William Hill, said: “Judi Love has been lucky to survive several bottom two finishes so far, but her time on Strictly looks to be running out and we make her a very strong favourite for the next elimination at 1/2.

“Dan Walker’s below-par performances continue, and he is next favourite to go at 11/2, while Sara Davies is priced at 6/1.”
