Strictly Come Dancing latest: Stacey Dooley gets her highest score of the series despite missing training with rib injury

Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley got her highest score of the series despite losing two days of training to injury.

The documentary maker was forced to skip rehearsals for several days after injuring her intercostal muscle between her ribs earlier this week.

But Dooley - dancing with Kevin Clifton - battled through the pain to earn 36 for her Street dance, part of their Couples Choice.

And fans were quick to praise Dooley after her tough week, hailing her as “amazing”.

He told Zoe Ball: “Every time she turns she is kind of holding herself and I do believe she’d had an injury but luckily they are still practising.

“I think they’re going to be okay for Saturday but I think it has set them back a little bit.”

Dooley wasn’t the only one to fight through rib injury this week after Kate Silverton “stripped” a muscle above her rib late on Friday evening.

But fans were left seething after Silverton was “undermarked” for her Argentine Tango, fearing for her place in the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Sunday at 7.50pm on BBC One.
