Strictly Come Dancing judge hopes new series will go ahead despite coronavirus crisis

Craig Revel Horwood is keeping his “fingers crossed” thatStrictly Come Dancing will be able to go ahead as normal despite the coronavirus outbreak.

The reality TV judge appeared on The One Show on Wednesday evening when he gave fans an update on the show’s future.

“The producers are working very, very hard to bring it out at its normal time so I’m keeping my fingers crossed,” he explained. “I know everyone at home will be willing it to go on because it’s such a great, great show.”

Strictly viewers will still be kept entertained throughout lockdown, thanks to the Keep Dancing Challenge for Comic Relief and Children in Need’s Big Night In on Thursday.

There will also be three “best of” Strictly compilation episodes will be airing in the coming months with the best routines from Blackpool, Musicals Week and Movie Week.

“There will be lots and lots of Strictly to watch over the summer, which is great,” Revel Horwood explained.

The Saturday night competition show is due to return in September, with rehearsals for the new series scheduled to kick off in August.
