Strictly Come Dancing final thrown into chaos as 'backstage feuds threaten reunion dance'

The Strictly Come Dancing finale airs this weekend seeing one of the famous faces left being awarded the iconic Glitterball trophy.

This weekend will see Rose Ayling-Ellis, AJ Odudu and John Whaite battle it out on the dancefloor to see who will reign victorious.

Celebrities who have been booted off the BBC show will also come together for a special routine.

However, things apparently aren't not good back stage amid reports of two celebs dropping out and one who has rubbed the cast and crew up the wrong way, making it tricky for the bosses to arrange the rehearsals for the dance.

An insider claims the bosses are determined to push ahead with the performance "one way or another".

A telly insider told The Sun : “There’s nothing to suggest the dance won’t happen but it’s going to be a difficult one to arrange.

“Not only do they have so many more people to organise so they’re as Covid-safe as possible, they have two dropouts and one celebrity who’s not exactly flavour of the month with the cast and crew.

“But given the past four months, the producers will find a way to make it happen, one way or another.”

The outlet also reports that Robert Webb will not be taking part due to his health woes.

This weekend TV presenter AJ Odudu, EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and chef and former The Great British Bake Off champion John Whaite will battle it out to be crowned winner of the 2021 series of Strictly.

The public will decide who will be the winner after the final dances are performed.

Last weekend, Rhys Stephenson and professional Nancy Xu missed out on a place in the final after being axed following a dance-off against John and pro Johannes Radebe.

Speaking of his exit in the semi-finals, he told host Tess Daly: "I might not have gotten to the final but I learnt so much from just being on this show, from everyone here who’s just supported us in this new family.

"To have the time to spend with this champion of a dancer [Nancy] who’s put so much into me. Thank you for just letting my energy shine. Thank you for being that partner.

"I should use your actual name which is Xu YouJie. Thank you so much Nancy Xu YouJie, for just being there, being my rock and everything I needed to get through this. Thank you."

Strictly Come Dancing's 2021 final airs live at 7pm on Saturday 18 December on BBC One.
