Strictly Come Dancing fans rejoice as new judge Anton Du Beke gets standing ovation

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been celebrating Anton Du Beke joining the judging panel.

The BBC One dancing competition returned for its 2021 series with a glitzy launch show on Saturday night.

However, the judging panel looked somewhat different as head judge Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, and Motsi Mabuse were joined by a fourth judge.

The trio had judged mostly as a trio last year after Bruno Tonioli was prevented from taking part due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Temporarily stepping in while Motsi was unable to be there, was longtime professional dancer Anton Du Beke.

Now Anton has replaced Bruno full-time for the new series and quickly made his presence felt by brandishing the Glitterball trophy and spoke of his excitement for the new series.

A different BBC One viewer penned: “It's such a natural fit for Anton to be a judge, although he would make a fantastic host, also. #Strictly #Strictly2021 #SCD #SCD2021 ”.

Meanwhile, another fan of the dancing show tweeted: “Anton is finally on the panel where he belongs #Strictly @TheAntonDuBeke ”.
