Speaking to Claudia, AJ became tearful after giving an impressive performance, admitting her confidence had been knocked in the week after taking 'tumbles' during training.
The Charleston is known for its speed and complex moves and AJ and Kai took the viewers back to the 1920's with their dance that was full of lifts and precision.
The judges didn't hold back with their comments, with Shirley, Motsi, Anton and Craig full of praise for the pair.
Shirley even admitted there and then that there wasn't a paddle with a high enough score for the couple.
But when the results came in, Craig shocked the viewers by failing to give a 10. While the other three had no hesitation in pulling out the highest mark for AJ and Kai.
Fans took to Twitter to vent that AJ had been 'robbed' of a perfect 40.
"I am SO cross with @CraigRevHorwood for not giving AJ a ten!!!!" One fan fumed.
"*HOW* was that not a 10 for AJ and Kai’s Charleston?!?! Pure daylight robbery from Craig. I’m raging!" Another furious viewer wrote.
A third said: "Claudia better be asking Craig why he only gave a 9 to AJ and Kai after saying the dance was “A-ma-zing”.
One critical fan added: "Ok, so Craig can pull out a 10 for a basic Tango, which was good by the way. (Rose & Giovanni), for last week, but for an explosive Charleston, with difficult lifts, intricate steps and perfect timing (AJ & Kai), not possible?"
The Sunday Result Show will be on BBC One at 7.15pm today November 7 to reveal if AJ will stay for another a week.
