Strictly Come Dancing fans divided over music choices for this weekend's show

Strictly fans have found themselves divided after the BBC show announced the dances and music that will be performed by its couples this weekend.

Some fans of the show, which returns at 6.40pm on Saturday night on BBC One, were left underwhelmed by the couples' choices of song ahead of the weekend.

But others defended the selections, with Goo Goo Dolls' Iris in particular proving popular among the fans, reports Birmingham Live.

JET wrote: "Rubbish music! Yet again.. can we please have a bit more variety. Why are the celebrities choosing awful songs!! In fact why are they choosing music full stop!!!"

However, many other fans came out to voice their love for the songs that have been chosed.

Particularly praising John and Johannes' choice of the song Acuyuye by DLG, one user said: "Omg it will be perfect for our gorgeous gentlemen."

There was also a lot of love for Rose and Giovanni's choice of Symphony by Clean Bandit for their Couple's Choice dance, with fans all over the "poignant" song choice.

"Yay for rose and Giovanni's couples choice and what a poignant song choice. Brilliant," one said.

Another commented: "Omg Gio & Rose’s couples choice is gna be amazing."

"Rose & Giovanni's couples choice will be epic," a third added.

A fourth said: "Rose & Gio's couples choice is going to end me I just know it."
