Strictly Come Dancing fans baffled by Clara Amfo's shoes

Radio One presenter Clara Amfo received mixed comments after she performed the jive to Tina Turner's River Deep Mountain High on Strictly Come Dancing.

Clara shimmied 60s-style as she kicked and flicked her way across the dancefloor in a fringe-detail top and shorts with pro dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec

But fans of the BBC One dance show were left baffled by the choice of footwear.

Viewers noticed that she was sporting flats instead of heels, and they think the broadcaster might have been let down by her choice of shoe.

"Poor Clara, that was such a hard dance. And flat shoes never looks right to me," commented one viewer on Twitter.

"I don't get it, maybe she has an injury? Why would you not wear heeled shoes for a Tina Turner jive?" asked another confused viewer.

"She really needed to be in heels to get the right body position," commented another.

"The flat shoes didn't seem to help Clara," said another Strictly fan.

"Had she been done up like Tina Turner and in heels it would have come off better," said another.

And another tweeted: "Bad shoes klaxon. That was really messy.

"Did she forget the routine or did he? Leg action in the kicks and flicks was bang on but the shoes impacted her ability to be on the toe and couldn't do the toe heel swivels at all."

They added: "Difficult to watch, unfortunately."

Judge Motsi Mabuse said she had 'goosebumps' from the performance.

But Shirley Ballas said she's spotted a 'few mistakes.'
