Strictly Come Dancing bosses sign up Bill Bailey and Caroline Quentin for new series

Strictly Come Dancing's first two stars have been revealed for 2020.

Comedians Bill Bailey, 55, and Caroline Quentin, 60, plan to brush up on their dancing skills when starring on the hit BBC show.

More celebrity contestants will be revealed over the next two weeks.

Excitement for Strictly Come Dancing has been building in recent weeks with many stars tipped to be getting involved.

Caroline can't wait to get her dancing shoes on.

Meanwhile, Bill has decided to waltz onto the dance floor because it's a difficult time for live performers amid coronavirus.

It's understood many of his live performances were cancelled following the killer virus.

So finally, after years of asking, the comedian has decided to give the BBC dancing show a go.

A source told The Sun : “The BBC are delighted with the double signing. Caroline is looking forward to the challenge and wants to get properly stuck in.

“And it’s a hard time for live performers so it seemed a good chance for Bill to commit to the show.”

Strictly Come Dancing won't start until October this year.

It had been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Strictly professionals were pictured for the first time hard at work for rehearsals earlier this week.

Training for the 2020 series has officially started.

Strictly's format has changed to make filming of the show easier amid the coronavirus pandemic.

There has been a smaller pool of celebrities cherry picked for the show.

Also, there will be no group dances because they wouldn't be able to social distance while performing.

No audiences will be watching the show live in the Elstree Studios as they have done every year since it begun.

Strictly's Bruno Tonioli lifted the lid on how the changes will actually work better for the more talented contestants.

The judge explained contestants will be unable to hide behind 25 people and the normal big production scale.
