Strictly Come Dancing bosses can't sack Kevin Clifton for one simple reason

Kevin Clifton has caused controversy over the past couple of weeks, as his romance with Stacey Dooley was unveiled.

The pair went public with their romance last week - after Stacey's ex branded Kevin a "snake".

Since the revelations there have been reports that Strictly bosses are considering axing Kevin from this year's line-up.

A legal loophole means they can't - but the same can't be said for dancer Katya Jones, who was caught kissing dance partner Sean Walsh during the show.

Kevin will have to be partnered up with a celeb for the Strictly 2019 line-up - because he signed this year's contract before the news of his and Stacey's romance came to light - r eports Mirror Online .

After winning the series in December, BBC bosses made sure to sign Kevin up for another year on a new contract - so are now legally obliged to pair him up.

But Katya hasn't signed a new contract - leaving bosses with no obligations to bring her back.

Katya has now reportedly been demoted and won't be a part of this year's Strictly line-up as producers are now taking a hard line on show romances.

Husband Neil may find it's his time to shine after years of working on the show as a choreographer and back-up dancer.
